From prototype to retail — the world’s first wearable motion charger

When BuzzFeed asks, “Why has no one invented this before?!” you might be onto something.

Harnessing human movement into energy for smart devices sounded too fantastic to be true. Yet three Northwestern Ph.D. candidates prototyped a revolutionary new consumer electronic product: the world’s first wearable motion charger.

People-powered energy made simple

Oncore worked closely with the CEO to strengthen brand positioning and define the product function in the clearest way possible. We landed on a name and tagline that was both distinct and explicit: AMPY. Your movement is your power.

Along with fresh design, we rewrote all the marketing copy and illustrated infographics to demonstrate the energy conversion. We art directed a lifestyle photoshoot to showcase product usage on packaging, collateral and e-commerce website.

In parallel, we focused on design of the product and accessories to a commercial level, along with UI/UX development of the AMPY mobile app.
